Cubbon Park, Bengaluru - A Restful Wilderness to Wind-Down the Restless Urban Soul!

Some random photographs from our last visit to the most beautiful, placidly impassive, green arboreous lung of Bangalore -The Cubbon Park, one of the pristine gardens, located right in the heart of this famous Garden City. The kids love it, especially the Toy Train ride. The park is still very verdant, thickly-wooded and well-maintained. A great sylvan neighbourhood to spend some good leisurely family time. The inviting green, grassy lawns coaxes you onto its luxurious carpet, with open arms to just carelessly sprawl across it, staring at the overhanging live canopy of leaves and branches of some very old shady trees, to get lost in one's thoughts. One of the accompanying adults, at the same time must keep a vigilant eye on the prancing children joyously indulging themselves on the swings, slides & see-saws, et all that are thoughtfully provided intermittently in this huge park. You laze around, sedating your soul, listening to the warbling twitter and chirping of birds, whilst eating some boiled corn, munching on some peanuts, only occasionally interrupted by the clickety-clack of the toy train. Even the perpetual cacophony of the honking horns and the humming mechanical din of the streaking traffic all around the busy roads bordering this park, which normally would have distrubed you, sounds like music to the ears, aiding in soothing your mind, while you are relaxing in this serene setting. The tranquil atmosphere all around you, has a curiously invasive and conquering property, which subjugates your mind with peace. Stress abandons the body here and hastily vanishes into the thick undergrowth. This park is definitely a welcome destination to unwind and calm one's soul. I feel everyone can do with atleast a fleeting dose of Cubbon Park, once in a while. If nothing the 'lucky' Bangaloreans must make it a point to just drive through here; even that cursory passing, would help settle some frayed, urban nerves.
